Made from premium cognac, real brewed jasmine green tea, and local Canadian honey, it’s a modern and improved take on a classic drink that pays homage to Asian heritage and culture.&nbsp;They approached me to execute their packaging design and print collateral using their existing logo. After having many conversations about potential imagery, we felt that a dragon would best encapsulate the spirit of their luxury cocktail. To execute the traditional yet modern style we were searching for, we approached local tattoo legend Bobby Thaii to illustrate the dragon seen wrapped around the can. The final can design was chosen after many iterations and Triple X.O.G. As the first major launch since the rebrand, we leaned heavily into technical visual language to feature its unique waterproof ripstop Dyma-tex™ technology. Schematic linework, product feature iconography, and frosted glass overlays were all employed to highlight the rugged capabilities of the shoe while being on-trend. With no prior experience in event hosting and planning, or practice in sound and lighting design, they boldy blazed a path and built a passionate community of DIY-ers that include visual artists, musicians, poets, comedians, and beatboxers. Purple Lining’s ethos of respect, inclusivity, and encouragement are stilll at the heart of every show, many sold-out events later. Design / Brand Design / Editorial Design After two years of fully digital festivals, TIFF was ready to come back with a bang as a hybrid in-person festival. Generating excitement around the reslience of storytelling post-pandemic required a refreshed artistic direction – a complete departure from festival identities of the past with a nod to the digital offerings that would remain. We presented our iconic logo distorted through a glass cube, constantly shifting to show new perspectives and allude to the ever-evolving and lively nature of TIFF.&nbsp; Close crops of prismatic light refractions teased our audience in static assets before the full festival programming announcement, where motion assets revealed our logo as the source of the vibrant colours. Cube animations used as the hero graphic for trailers and in static works built in Octane and Cinema 4D by Andrew Strapp. Art direction and production by Jodie Leung, Rachelle Ribeiro, and Kevin Greenspan. Over the course of five days my experiential pop-up shop was open to the public and aimed to expose the wellness industry’s predatory practices through satire. A line of seven absurd products embody the industry’s practices of exploiting our naiveté and feelings of inadequacy for profit. Film screenings are accompanied by in-depth onstage conversations with renowned authors, filmmakers, and screenwriters about the challenging but rewarding process of adaptation. To mark the 10th year of Books on Film, I was tasked with redesigning its visual system. The Art Deco movement was a large inspiration for the typefaces selected and graphic elements created as it calls to mind the golden age of cinema. The handcrafted nature of the book – kettle stitch binding, hand-set eyelets, woven string connections, and warmer white paper – presents the data in an approachable, less stiff manner.On each page, bolded words of semantic similarity are connected through&nbsp;red string. When turning a&nbsp;page the string is fed into the next spread.
