Sisters Mya and Kendra set out to create a pop-up event series after seeing a lack of consistent opportunities for local creatives to showcase their talent in front of an audience.
With no prior experience in event hosting and planning, or practice in sound and lighting design, they boldy blazed a path and built a passionate community of DIY-ers that include visual artists, musicians, poets, comedians, and beatboxers.

Purple Lining’s ethos of respect, inclusivity, and encouragement are stilll at the heart of every show, many sold-out events later. To mark their one year anniversary, the founders tasked me with reimagining their visual identity to be more professional and cohesive while still maintaining the DIY spirit of its origins.
